Grand Toro II Arrives in the UK for Testing Ahead of 2026 Launch

We’re pleased to confirm that the next evolution of popular midi coach has arrived in the UK. The new Grand Toro II is now undergoing pre-launch road testing, allowing us to showcase a series of carefully engineered improvements ahead of its planned 2026 launch.

This latest generation has been refined to strengthen electrical robustness, increase interior durability, enhance environmental protection, and elevate overall quality assurance. These upgrades reflect our continued focus on delivering dependable, cost-effective vehicles that perform in real-world operating conditions.

With GSR2-compliant safety systems now mandatory across Europe and Northern Ireland, the Grand Toro II arrives fully aligned with the new standard. While these regulations inevitably add cost across the wider midi-coach market, we believe few models can match the Grand Toro II’s balance of size, capability, safety, and outstanding value.

Full GSR2 Safety Integration

The Grand Toro II incorporates all required GSR2 systems, including:

  • BSIS (Blind Spot Information System) – Detects vehicles in blind spots and alerts the driver to help prevent collisions.

  • MOIS (Moving Off Information System) – Detects pedestrians around the vehicle when pulling away and alerts the driver.

  • ISA (Intelligent Speed Assistance) – Supports compliance with speed limits and alerts the driver when speeding.

  • ESS (Emergency Stop Signal) – Automatically activates hazard lights during sudden braking to warn following vehicles.

  • CYBSC (Cybersecurity) – Protects in-vehicle communication systems against cyber threats and ensures secure data transmission.

  • RM (Reversing Motion) – Alerts the driver to obstacles when reversing.

Although GSR2 legislation has not been formally adopted by the UK Government, we believe investing in GSR2-equipped vehicles future-proofs fleet investments while immediately enhancing safety for drivers, passengers, and vulnerable road users.

Alongside GSR2 integration, we’ve worked closely with AOS to introduce meaningful refinements throughout the vehicle. These updates are the result of extensive evaluation of operator feedback and real-world performance data, ensuring the Grand Toro II meets market expectations for reliability, durability, and long-term lifecycle cost.

As our Founder and CEO, Danny McGee, explains:

“Ground-built midi buses are the future. They’re more competitive than a chassis-plus-body approach, and a fully integrated product removes disputes between chassis manufacturer and bodybuilder. There’s one source for aftersales, and we provide unrivalled support from purchase through to resale.”

Our reputation for responsive, knowledgeable technical support remains central to everything we do. Customers continue to rely on our team for expert product insight, efficient parts supply, and dependable service support throughout the vehicle’s life.

My team works tirelessly to uphold high manufacturer standards and quality assurance. Sharing the vehicle with customers ahead of launch allows for open, honest feedback, giving us valuable insight for continued improvements both before release and beyond.

Early demonstrator vehicles are now operating nationwide as part of our structured pre-launch programme. This phase is critical in validating performance before full market release.

Cosimo Facecchia, Head of Operations for EVM UK & Ireland, explains:

“My team works tirelessly to uphold high manufacturer standards and quality assurance. Sharing the vehicle with customers ahead of launch allows for open, honest feedback, giving us valuable insight for continued improvements both before release and beyond.”

Initial feedback from operators has been overwhelmingly positive, particularly in terms of pricing, passenger capacity, and exterior kerb appeal. The passenger experience—long a strength of the Grand Toro range—continues to attract strong praise in its latest generation.

We look forward to sharing further updates as the Grand Toro II progresses towards its official launch.
