The EVM Mercedes Grand Tourer is a new addition to Mainline Coaches fleet. The model boasts an impressive specification that includes full leather reclining seats, tables, multiple monitors for passenger entertainment, and USB ports throughout.
Before embarking on its inaugural trip to Portugal the team at Mainline Coaches completed the Grand Tourer’s first inspection and it was approved for departure from the company’s depot in Cardiff on 10th October. The vehicle’s first stop was Central London where Managing Director Chris Mainwaring and members of a hiking club boarded, ready and set for their pilgrimage along the Camino de Santiago.
The hiking club have organised an annual pilgrimage along the Camino de Santiago route for several years. This year, the group choose to tackle the route in reverse and had spent a great deal of time planning the journey which started in A Guarda, Spain, and finished at the Cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
After a smooth 8-hour crossing, the coach continued its journey to Porto, Portugal. The high specification of the Grand Tourer ensured that all 14 passengers travelled in comfort, making the journey a pleasant experience.
Once the group arrive Porto, they were about to get settled into their accommodation before embarking on their 5-day trip on foot. The group walked from A Guarda, Spain, to the Cathedral in Santiago de Compostela, with the EVM Mercedes Grand Tourer serving as a vital support vehicle, providing a hydration station and rest spot along the route.
Throughout the journey, the Grand Tourer attracted considerable attention from members of the public in the UK, Spain, and Portugal, who were impressed by its luxurious interior. The vehicle’s exceptional quality and comfort are a testament to Mainline Coaches’ decision to partner with EVM UK for their executive mini coaches since 2009.
