On Saturday, 18th April, the team at EVM IRL will embark on a trek up Croagh Patrick, which is the fourth-highest mountain in Connacht. Overlooking Clew Bay in County Mayo, Ireland, it stands at 764 metres (2,507 feet) tall and has a distinctive pyramid-shaped peak. The walk will take 3- 4 hours to complete and spans 7km.
Tracey, Caolán, Aiden, Johnny, Danish, Anthony and Marty will all be completing the challenge to raise money for the children’s charity Barretstown, which is based in County Kildare, Ireland.
Barrettstown offers free camps and programmes for children and families affected by cancer and serious illness. It will cost €10 million to run the camps throughout 2026. Families do not pay any money toward the excursions or specialist 24-hour care that makes them possible. This means that the entirety of the event costs needs to be funded by the generosity and fundraising efforts of others.
So far, the team have raised over €2,000 from 42 supporters. We are grateful for all the donations received. Every penny raised will help our colleagues apply the rigour and motivation to complete the task this weekend.
